One of the largest food business events in North America is the first major face-to-face action in which the Sabará Group’s business unit participates post-pandemic

São Paulo, April 2022 - Concepta Ingredients, a business unit of the Sabará Group, is participating in SIAL Canada, in Montreal, with the purpose of presenting its biodiversity range for food ingredients. The international food business fair takes place from April 20 to 22 and brings together major names in the market to discuss the advances in the food industry, such as the arrival of new players, changes in consumption habits and the development of the international market.

The portfolio presented by Concepta Ingredients during the event includes organic and exotic ingredients to meet the most specific industrial demands, including patauá, licuri, passion fruit and toasted babaçuoils; açaí syrup, extract, oil and powder; plant-based butter and cold-pressed linseed, sunflower and safflower oils.

For over 20 years promoting business connections, SIAL is considered the gateway to Canada’s food industry, a pathway to the North American market and others. This year’s edition welcomes more than 1200 participating companies from 50 countries, with an estimated audience of more than 25,000 delegates from North America and 60 other nations for business rounds, conferences, product line presentations, specialized hubs, and side events, among other activities.

Biodiversity Line

SIAL Canada’s target audiences range from players in food retail, food service and the food processing industry. “The fair is totally strategic, because it brings together the most innovative products in the sector. For us, presenting the Arboreto range composed of products from the Brazilian biodiversity is very important, they are technological products that extract the best from Brazilian nature and make it available for the food market”, emphasizes Lilia Kawazoe, commercial manager of the Sabará Group’s business unit.

All the work of Concepta Ingredients is based on the Bio Abundance Program, with the engagement of communities, cooperatives and associations that supply ingredients from biodiversity in initiatives that promote the conservation of the standing forest. The objectives are always to promote respect for local people, encourage the use of ingredients from Brazilian biomes, promote socioeconomic inclusion, reduce social inequality and connect the wealth of the forest to the market.

Check out some of the products presented by Concepta Ingredients at SIAL Canada:

Plant-Based Butter - The 100% natural, organic and sustainable plant-based butter is obtained through a blend of vegetable oils from the Brazilian biodiversity. Produced in a pure form with organic certification, without any kind of chemical additives or artificial coloring, it is gluten-free, free of trans fat, canola, soy, and sodium. In addition, it is not hydrogenated, making it a healthy alternative to dairy butter and a suitable ingredient for naturalists, vegetarians, and vegans.

Cold-Pressed Vegetable Oils – Produced with high quality raw materials and with a rigorous quality program, they meet the needs of the functional dietary supplements market, maintaining the characteristics of flavor, color, seed aromas, and concentration of bioactive components.

Açaí Range – Available in extract, syrup, oil and powder, açaí is part of a range of organic and exotic ingredients created to attend mainly the market of healthy and functional food. The portfolio was developed from the fruit pulp of the Euterpe oleracea species, a palm tree typically found in the Amazon.

CCBC Business Mission

During the Canadian event, Concepta Ingredients is present in the Brazil pavilion, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento), and is also part of the Business Mission, organized by the Ministry with the support of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (Câmara de Comércio Brasil-Canadá). This activity includes participation in dinners and business rounds with buyers from the region. Canada is one of the focus markets for Brazilian business expansion.

“The Canadian market has a demanding and conscious profile, which brings to Concepta Ingredients the possibility of presenting and conducting business rounds with companies concerned with the environment and with people. These are companies that value the products we develop”, says Lilia Kawazoe.
