Concepta Ingredients Launches Organic Toasted Babaçu Oil

Cold-pressed from the almonds of the babaçu coconut, native to the Amazon and Cerrado biomes, the new oil features a unique, light, and nutty flavor
Concepta Ingredients, specialized in developing natural and technological solutions with a focus on the food, beverage, animal nutrition, and veterinary pharmaceutical industries, has just launched Organic Toasted Babaçu Oil, cold-pressed from the almonds of the babaçu coconut sourced from the Amazon and Cerrado biomes.
Rich in lauric acid and myristic acid with a slightly nutty flavor, the oil is an excellent substitute for virgin coconut oil, as it contains nutritional properties similar to coconut. It is an oil rich in saturated fatty acids, but with a higher concentration of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Babaçu oil can be applied in a wide range of products such as: breads, sweets, savory snacks, cereal bars, cookies, spreads, among others.
The culinary advantage of this oil during cooking is its flavor. The oil does not transfer the intense coconut taste to recipes, as it is a lighter, nuttier oil. It is perfect for both savory and sweet applications, while maintaining the nutritional richness of vitamins and antioxidants typical of a cold-pressed oil.
The collection of babaçu coconut follows the Concepta Ingredients Sociobiodiversity Valorization Program, which represents a commitment to social and environmental responsibility and, above all, respect for seasonal variations and the full involvement of local communities. In this case, the process includes the ‘quebradeiras,’ groups usually composed of women who have made this collection one of their main sources of income.
