During the event, the company also highlights the Bio Abundance Program, which contributes to the indirect preservation of approximately 538 thousand hectares of native vegetation across 4 Brazilian biomes
São Paulo, July 2023 – Concepta Ingredients — a business unit of Grupo Sabará specialized in providing natural solutions for the food and beverage industry — will participate in another edition of Food Ingredients South America (FiSA), considered the most comprehensive platform for connection and business in the sector in Latin America. The event will take place from August 8 to 10 at São Paulo Expo, in São Paulo (SP).
For this edition, the company has prepared the launch of two products for its Arboreto line, composed of biodiversity ingredients: Broken Brazil Nut and Babaçu Flour. Additionally, it will highlight the Bio Abundance program at the event, now also operating in the Atlantic Forest biome, covering a total of 4 Brazilian biomes, along with its commitment to ensuring full traceability of raw materials.
“We have prepared the presentation of our complete product portfolio, with several new items compared to the last edition. The highlights are the new Broken Brazil Nut and Babaçu Flour, but we must also mention the vegetable oils, caramels, and sugars. At the booth, visitors even have the chance to taste products made using our ingredients,” says André Sabará, Commercial Director of Concepta Ingredients.
“At FiSA, we want to reconnect with our partners and clients, establish new contacts, and present, in addition to ingredient solutions, the ESG initiatives that have been successfully implemented over the years, such as the Bio Abundance Program,” he adds.
Broken Brazil Nut
It features a buttery and distinctive nutty flavor, with a crunchy texture and natural presence of plant-based protein, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals, with selenium as the main highlight. It also contains omegas 6 and 9. Ideal for use in breads, cakes, cereals, chutneys, dish finishing, ice creams, salads, sauces, soups, and sweets.
Babaçu Flour
A fine powder ranging in color from cream to reddish-brown, it has a mild flavor and high concentrations of starch and fiber, as well as natural polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. Ideal for use in breads, cakes, cereals, fried foods, and sweets.
Bio Abundance Program
Concepta Ingredients’ booth highlights the Bio Abundance program, launched in 2022, which contributes to the indirect preservation of approximately 538 thousand hectares of native vegetation spread across the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Atlantic Forest biomes, involving around 6,200 families in 6 Brazilian states.
Concepta Ingredients’ Bio Abundance program is based on five pillars: connecting people in a virtuous value chain between the richness of the forest and the market; conserving standing forest; respecting the peoples and communities who inhabit it; encouraging the use of ingredients from Brazilian biomes; and promoting socioeconomic inclusion and reduction of social inequality.
“We created the Bio Abundance program to meet our current market and operational demands. Through it, Concepta Ingredients has invested in projects with supplier communities. Those that meet our supply standards and wish to become partners undergo an internal evaluation process to identify potential development projects. For this, we count on the support of the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD), which provided funding to accelerate the company,” explains Giovanna Cappellano, ESG Coordinator at Grupo Sabará.
Award
With the aim of valuing good practices among exhibiting companies, Food Ingredients South America promotes the 2023 Sustainable Booth Award, recognizing companies that present the most sustainable spaces.
At Concepta Ingredients, the booth was designed to be as sustainable as possible, as were the giveaways and printed materials produced especially for the fair. “The company is recognized for its ESG actions, which are part of the pillars and essence of our work. For us, it is very important to participate in initiatives like this, which align with our philosophy and practices,” concludes André Sabará.
