Concepta Ingredients Enters the Food Service Market with a Line of Organic, Healthy, and Sustainable Oils

Focusing on Restaurants, Cafés, and Hotels, Food Industry Company Bets on Healthy and 100% Natural Items to Generate R$ 200 Million Annually

São Paulo, April 2017 – A business unit of the Sabará Group specialized in natural and technological solutions for the food, beverage, animal nutrition, and veterinary pharmaceutical industries, Concepta Ingredients announces its entry into the food service market with the launch of a 100% organic line of sustainable and healthy vegetable butters and oils, aimed at restaurants, cafés, and hotels.

“Our company has always operated with a focus on the ‘B2B – Business to Business’ market; however, we have observed a market trend toward healthier and functional ingredients. Consumers are increasingly attentive, and our expertise of more than 20 years working with natural and traceable/sustainable products led us to launch this new line – 100% organic, as well as flavorful, healthy, and sustainable,” explains Ulisses Sabará, president of Concepta Ingredients.

The executive adds that, even amid the economic crisis, the organic segment is experiencing strong growth – according to Organics Brasil, an international promotion program for sustainable organic producers, supported by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), the expected growth in Brazil for 2017 is between 20% and 30%. “Due to this market movement, we have decided to invest R$ 40 million over the next 10 years in our new line, with the expectation of generating R$ 200 million in annual revenue within this period.”

The new line will consist of differentiated market items, all of which are free from chemical additives and have organic certification, intended for culinary use such as baking, deep frying, seasoning, and finishing dishes. A good example is cupuaçu butter, an ingredient with a distinctive flavor, collected by traditional communities from the Amazon Rainforest, which travels a long path to the plate to impart a unique taste to the dish.

The butters and oils combine the farm-to-table concept, being completely natural and healthy; the products were developed sustainably and beneficially for everyone involved in the production process,” Ulisses reflects. He also points out that, although this marks Concepta Ingredients’ entry into a new market, the launch maintains the commitment to sustainability present in all Sabará Group units.

“We are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and as the Sabará Group, we always prioritize factors such as people’s well-being, preservation and maintenance of biodiversity, dignified employment, innovation, responsible production, and combating climate change,” says the executive, who was recognized in 2016 as one of the UN’s ten Local SDG Pioneers worldwide – business leaders and change agents engaged in promoting actions and businesses aligned with the SDGs.
