Concepta Ingredients Introduces Liquid Version of Brown Sugar

Free of additives and pesticides, the ingredient preserves the nutritional properties of sugarcane

São Paulo, September 2018 – Consumers are increasingly concerned with health and well-being and, therefore, more demanding regarding the foods they consume. To confirm this, a survey conducted this year by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) highlighted that eight out of ten Brazilians strive to maintain a healthy diet.

In response to this market demand, Concepta Ingredients, a business unit of the Sabará Group specialized in natural and technological solutions for the food, beverage, animal nutrition, and veterinary pharmaceutical industries, is launching Biofrutose, a liquid brown sugar derived from organic cultivation.

Without using any additives or pesticides, the ingredient is known as whole sugar because it is not subjected to the refining process, which helps preserve the natural minerals of the cane, such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and iron. Additionally, it naturally contains polyphenols and phytosterols.

“When we talk about healthy eating, brown sugar is the most recommended option because it retains the nutritional properties of sugarcane. Moreover, the liquid form facilitates handling and does not crystallize during storage, ensuring greater product utilization,” evaluates Lilia Kawazoe, Commercial Manager at Concepta Ingredients.
