Concepta Ingredients Expands Its Line of Oils Targeted at the Food Service Market
Focusing on hotels, restaurants, and coffee shops, the company specialized in the food industry bets on healthy items from biodiversity
São Paulo, November 2017 – Specialized in natural and technological solutions for the food and beverage industries, Concepta Ingredients, a business unit of Grupo Sabará, introduces new products in its line of oils. Targeted at the food service market – hotels, restaurants, and coffee shops (HORECA) – these products are composed of biodiversity ingredients and naturally contain vitamins.
Among the launches is the organic licuri coconut oil, an ingredient rich in omega 9, lauric acid, myristic acid, and phytosterols. Used in the preparation of baked goods, cakes, sweets, grilled dishes, vegetables, and breads, it is extracted from the licuri seed by cold pressing.
“The licuri palm is very common in the caatinga biome and is one of the main palms of the Brazilian semi-arid region. However, much more than a source of healthy food, it is a fundamental provider of resources for the subsistence of local communities, as it withstands droughts, blooms, and bears fruit for a long period of the year,” states Isabela Romanin, responsible for technical sales at Concepta Ingredients.
In addition to the organic ingredient, Concepta also bets on exotic products such as acai oil, passion fruit oil, and sacha inchi oil, all free from solvents and chemical additives.
Check out the properties of each oil from Concepta Ingredients:
Acai oil: Containing omegas 6 and 9 and phytosterols, acai comes from a palm that grows along riverbanks and is known as the “Amazonian wine” because it produces a purple-colored juice. The oil is extracted from the fruit pulp by cold pressing.
Application: Ideal for use in baked goods, sweets, grilled dishes, vegetables, fish, and salads.
Passion fruit oil: Rich in omega 6 and phytosterols, the oil is extracted by cold pressing the passion fruit seed. The passion fruit vine is native to warm climate regions.
Application: Recommended for preparing baked goods, sweets, grilled dishes, vegetables, fish, and salads.
Sacha inchi oil: Considered the main identified source of plant polyunsaturated fatty acids and containing omegas 3, 6, 9, and phytosterols, this ingredient is extracted by cold pressing the sacha seed. Known by the Incas thousands of years ago, the sacha inchi vine is native to the Amazon jungle, with its origin centered in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil.
Application: The product is ideal for baked goods, sweets, grilled dishes, vegetables, fish, and salads.
Beyond the health benefits of the foods, the work promoted by Concepta Ingredients encourages environmental preservation and social development. “More than delivering healthy and tasty products, we have a socio-environmental commitment. Today, we carry out multiple projects and invest in actions that contribute to forest preservation and that can guarantee additional income for local communities,” concludes Isabela Romanin.
